Mother’s Day message

Our passage for this weekend’s message is 2 Kings 4:1-7. In the story we have a single mom with two kids in the middle of a stressful situation.

I see two main practices that we can apply now to help us when situations like these hit: 1) plan ahead now and 2) establish strong friendships now. She did the second one, but not the first one. In fact, the majority of the stress and worry came because she and her husband didn’t plan ahead. But her friendships and faith helped her pull through.

If we would plan ahead and develop strong friendships, the things that most people worry about and stress over will not affect us in that way. We’ll have a good plan and a new perspective.

Do you have any other thoughts from this passage? Do you have a story of when you were able to turn a stressful situation around because you followed these practices?

Until next time,

Dan’l
