- Notice Jesus’ command to go to the people who are receptive. The work is too great to spend lots of time and energy on people that choose to reject God. Let God work on their hearts while you go to people he has already prepared.
- I wonder how John taught his followers to pray.
- I find it interesting that, while there are some who exalt Mary and her role, Jesus actually downplayed her in the big picture in favor of anyone who listens to God and obeys him.
- There’s nothing like insulting a man in his own home!
- People who teach God’s Word have a huge responsibility before God and toward the people they teach.
- Jesus is a divider; he makes people choose sides. This is exactly what Simeon prophesied he would do. It’s an all-or-nothing deal with God.
- Jesus paid attention to the culture around him and used it to teach kingdom principles.
- I wonder if Jesus healed people on the Sabbath day just to stir things up so he had people’s attention.
- God has little patience for those who reject him when they have lots of knowledge about him.
- What a great reminder for our Listen series: “If you have ears, pay attention!”
